She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Thomas Chapman and Frances Elaine Roberts Chapman; her grandparents, Warren, Vernell Welch Gibson, Glover, Frances Williamson Roberts and Robert Carl Chapman; and her uncle David Chapman.
She is survived by: her husband Edward Smith Cowen, Jr.; her children, John Henry Cowen, Whitman Jefferson Cowen and Elaine Marie Cowen; her siblings, Sharon Fremin (Ross) and John Richard Chapman; and her aunts, Brenda Roberts Chastain (Robbie), Ramona Roberts Rhodes (Mike) and Amanda Roberts Wyatt (Steve). She is also survived by many other extended family and loving friends.
