He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Jane Gerald Salter; his parents, Roy Lester Salter, Sr. and Ina Mazyck Salter; and his daughter-in-law Jeannie Salter. He is survived by: his children, Nancy Murphy (James) of Sanford, FL, William "Bill" Salter (Patsy) of Burlington and Donald Salter of Raleigh; his grandchildren, Shawn Salter, Bradley Stuart, Jeffrey Stuart and Michael Salter; and his sister Natalie Baggett of New Bern, NC.. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Graham.
