James Scott Larue Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Scott Larue (Sanford, Florida), who passed away on November 21, 2020 at the age of 48. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He is survived by: his wife Chenavia; his parents, James LaRue and Betty Jo LaRue; his sons, Andre Phillip LaRue and James Jordan LaRue; his stepson Malachi Dailey; his granddaughter Ava Joy LaRue; his brother Ricky Malmay; his nephew Trenton Malmay; his nieces, Tia Malmay and Jessica Golden; his aunts, Bernice Ebarb, Annie Pairre, Frances Hansford and Faye Smith; and his cousins, Evette Almanza and Sandy. He is also survived by cousins and many great friends.

Although it is not believed that Sgt. LaRue contracted COVID-19 while working at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility, the Seminole County Sheriff's Office will treat his passing as a Line of Duty Death, consistent with the provisions in the Safeguarding America's First Responders Act of 2020 (S. 3067).
