With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Irene Mavres of Sanford, Florida, born in Cleveland, Ohio, who passed away on January 26, 2022 at the age of 88. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Irene Mavres to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Emanuel Mavrikes and Anna Mavrikes (Efstathiou); her husband Arthur; and her siblings, Catherine Theophylactos and Tom Mavrikes.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Ann Myers, James Mavres (Annette), Katherine Ellis (John) and Emanuel Mavres (Michelle); her sisters, Angela Hughes and Urania Elliott; her grandchildren, Paul, Arthur, Nicole, Sophia, Eleni, Emanuel, Rebecca, Sarah, Christopher and Hannah; and her great grandchildren, Nicholas, James and Primavera. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and godchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family has graciously requested that donations be made in memory of Irene Mavres to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church Maitland, FL.
