He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Irene Blacksheare and Allen Blacksheare; his wife Susie Harrington-Blacksheare; his granddaughter Armeshia Blacksheare; his son Edward Blacksheare, Jr. (Melva Craft-Blacksheare); his grandchildren, Jason Blacksheare, Edna Blacksheare-Smith (Frederick Smith) and Chioke Blacksheare (Asha Jackson); his great grandchildren, Nautica Blacksheare, Caleb Smith, Hannah Smith and Mya Smith; his great great grandchild Nehemiah Blacksheare-Lemos; and his former wife Patricia Simmons. He was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
