He was predeceased by: his parents, Troy Mattox and Emma Green Mattox; and his brothers, Joe, Tom, Troy and Ernest Mattox.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce F. Mattox of Sanderson; his children, Michelle Mattox of Lake Butler and Earl W. Mattox, Jr. of Sanderson; his stepson Mike Eiserman (Denise) of Macclenny; and his siblings, Pam Dinkins (Dallas) of Crestview, Dread Mattox, Sr. of Macclenny and James Mattox (Carmelita) of Lake City. He is also survived by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
