She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester Steinberger and Jeannette Steinberger; her husband Guilford C. "Dan" Kater; and her sister Constance Bair. She is survived by: her sons, Christopher Kater (Shelley) and David Kater (Laura Leyden); her grandchildren, Geoffrey (Karen), Thomas (Nicole), Kelley Via (Tim), Timothy, Jennifer, Hannah Kater and Damon Begeman; and her great grandchildren, Alexander, Emily Gover, Lucian, Gabriel Henderson, Devon, Avalon Begeman, Brooklyn, Charlotte Via and John Christopher Kater.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Brater Winter Funeral Home - Harrison (201 S Vine St, Harrison, OH 45030). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:40 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 12:50 PM at the Glen Haven Cemetery (10300 New Biddinger Rd, Harrison, OH 45030).
Memorials may be made to the Helen Kater Scholarship Fund at St. Johns Church at Broadway & Sycamore, Gov Othniel Looker Chapter D.A.R, or St Jude Children's Hospital.
