With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Joel Weisberg of Saint Petersburg, Florida, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Weisberg and Rose Weisberg; and his former wife Nancy Oren Weisberg. He is survived by: his wife Jill Greenstein Weisberg; his sons, Larry A. Weisberg (Rebecca) of Harrisburg and David I. Weisberg of Philadelphia; his sister Alaine Handfinger of Augusta, Georgia; his grandchildren, Hannah Weisberg, Alison Sprouls (Gary), Aaron Weisberg, Cutter Weisberg and Lexi Weisberg; and his great grandchildren, Shoshana Sprouls and Jack Sprouls.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Chisuk Emuna Cemetery Chapel (55 N 34th St, Harrisburg, PA 17109). A shiva will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM at the Philadelphia Weisberg Home (716 S Hicks St, Philadelphia, PA 19146).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Joel's honor may be made to the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research (stopsarcoidosis.org) or the American Civil Liberties Union (aclu.org).
