He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph C. Van Asten and Elizabeth A. Nickless; and his siblings, Francis and Christine Strebe. He is survived by: his sons, Joseph Van Asten (Kristen) and Brian Van Asten (Lauren); his grandchildren, Joey, Graham, Kinsley and Cal; and his sisters, Patricia Essmann, Cecelia Jones and Roxanne. He is also survived by nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.
