He was predeceased by: his father Jack Layfield. He is survived by: his mother Elnora Layfield; his wife Linda Layfield; his children, William "Billy" Layfield Jr. (Karrie), Vickie Grady (Matt) and Heather Dickerson; and his siblings, Robin Cranford, David Layfield, Michael Layfield and James Layfield. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, and twenty great grandchildren.
