She was predeceased by: her parents, George Ruhl and Ada Esther Shaffer (Lowe); her husband William "Bill" Shaffer; and her daughter Patricia Hall. She is survived by: her sons, Stephen Shaffer (Michelle) of Boonesboro, Bruce Shaffer of Baltimore and Lance Shaffer (Mary Ellen) of St. Augustine; her grandchildren, Lauren Norkin (Doug), Jennifer Shaffer-Leninger (Doug), Melanie Mossman (Jake), Stefanie Shaffer (John), Nicolas Shaffer, Adam Shaffer, Todd Shaffer, Dylan Shaffer, William "Cory" Shaffer (Jaclyn), Daniel Shaffer (Mackenzie) and Elizabeth Geyer (Ronald); and her great grandchildren, Brynna Norkin, Tripp Glemser, Patrick Mossman, Samantha Mossman, Dominic Collins, Avery Shaffer and Lucia Geyer.
