He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmon Gilliam and Lillian Cook. He is survived by: his wife Ella Mae Gilliam; his sons, John Gilliam (Sylvia) of Atlanta, GA, Rev. Charlie E. Gilliam of St. Augustine, Michael Gilliam, Sr. (Lisa) of St. Augustine, Derek Gilliam (Teresa) of St. Augustine, Frederick Gilliam of St. Augustine and Vincent Taylor (Evelyn) of Atlanta, GA; his brother Leroy Gilliam (Barbara); and his close friend Eloise Roman. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church (280 Duval St, St. Augustine, FL 32084). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
