She was predeceased by: her parents, Guss Ford and Shirley Mae Peterson; her daughter Angela Denise Smith; and her siblings, Iretta Price, Abraham Wiggins, Terry Coleman and Ronald Coleman.

She is survived by: her husband George Washington Smith of St. Augustine; her children, Deborah Howard of Florence, SC, Sharon Delgado of Augusta, GA, Nycol Smith of St. Augustine, Alescia Smith of St. Augustine, Charles Sampson (Faye) of St. Augustine, Gerald Smith (Angela) of Ft. Lauderdale and George Anthony "Tony" Smith (Amber) of South Carolina; and her siblings, Juanita Fields (Dennis) of New York, Raniey Gibson (Cleveland) of Tallahassee, Annie Coleman of Texas, Korean Coleman of Tallahassee, John Coleman (Kichecko) of Kansas, Vince Coleman of Tallahassee and Theodore Coleman of Tallahassee. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
