He was predeceased by: his parents, George Edward and Isabel Egan Connaughton; his brother James Peter Connaughton; his daughter Erin Theresa Connaughton; and his grandson Gabriel Jacob Matthews.
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Lopez Connaughton of St. Augustine; his children, Keri Connaughton Matthews of St. Augustine and George Edward Connaughton III of Atlanta, Georgia; his siblings, Ellen Connaughton Grady of Avon Lake, Ohio and Dennis Connaughton of Randolph; his sister-in-law Pamela Teachey Connaughton of Plano, Texas; and his grandchildren, Rob Andrew Matthews IV and Abigael Marie Matthews. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
