She was predeceased by: her parents, Cora Lee Whitley Smart and George Bennett Smart Jr.; her daughter Catherine Paige Russell; and her sister Chrystal Lynn Smart of Albemarle, NC. She is survived by: her husband David Platt Russell of Safety Harbor, Florida.; her son David Matthew Russell (Rachel) of Palm Harbor; her grandchildren, Camden, Cooper and Cash Russell of Palm Harbor, Florida.; and her siblings, Jackie Jernigan (Darrell) of Albemarle, NC. and George Van Staden Smart (Roelof) of The Netherlands. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
