She was predeceased by: her parents, Frederick Shakespeare and Beatrice Cooper; her husband Philip LaFrance; and her brother Thomas Shakespeare. She is survived by: her daughter Lisa LaFrance; her grandson Bryce Huntt; and her pet Poe. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations can be made to her Scholarship Fund, established in 2009, the Barbara Shakespeare LaFrance Scholarship Fund at Bridgewater State College.
