He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Tyler (Lois Haynes) and Helen Cody Lewis (Austin); his stepsister Carol Haynes Newton; his cousin Lon J. Bennett; and his pets, Harvey and Sampson.
He is survived by: his wife Linda; his daughter Candace Tyler Abbey (Ronald) of Painted Post; his grandsons, Jordan Abbey (Megan Brugger) of Rochester and Kalen Abbey (Leah McLaughlin) of Corning; his stepdaughter Wendy Benjamin Heskell (Jason); his half-siblings, Irene Lewis Smith (Herbert) of Cameron, Rick Tyler (Joan) of Rochester and Ken Frazer of Southwick, Massachusetts.; and his aunt Irene Cody Barrett of Port Charlotte, Florida.. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the American Legion Post 113.
