He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Kaufmann and Marguerite Kaufmann (Bouland-Whitmer); and his sister Shirley Kaufmann. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Winslow; his sons, Steven Theodore Kaufmann (Xu Huang) and John Walter Kaufmann (Dolores); and his grandchildren, Avalon Valkyrie Kaufmann and Jonathan Alexander Kaufmann.
