Steven Charles Phelps Obituary
Steven Charles Phelps, 61, of Rockledge, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2022. Steve was the son of the late Bud and Joyce Phelps. Steve graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1983, was commissioned as an Army officer, and married Debbie shortly thereafter. After concluding his military service as a highly decorated veteran of Operation Just Cause and Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Steve began an eminent career as a Financial Advisor for Edward Jones, having served as a Regional Leader and General Partner in the firm.
Steve and Debbie raised two fine young men together, Vincent (Megan) and Gregory (Nina); he took great pride in his beloved grandchildren, Ashlyn and Brian. An Elder of Georgianna Church and a devout Christian, Steve was a servant-leader in his community as well as in his work, approaching all challenges with integrity and compassion. In life and in business, he was a beacon of light, striving to model the highest values of his Alma Mater—Duty, Honor, Country-- for the many men and women whose lives he touched. Always one to stand up for the underdog and fight for justice and fairness, his unwavering moral compass led many to financial wellness, and set the example for a life lived in the grace of God. An avid outdoorsman, skilled fly fisherman, devoted husband, and proud father, his presence in this world will be sorely missed by many, by his family most of all. We are comforted in the sure belief that he is now safe and content in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
