Melissa D. Jackson Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Melissa Denise Jackson, of New York City, announces her passing on November 24, 2021 in Melbourne, Florida. She was born August 8, 1972 in Naples, Florida.

Melissa graduated from Satellite High School in 1990, obtained her BSBA in 1994, and her MBA from the University of Florida in 1996. She studied one year in Barcelona, Spain as part of her MBA program. After graduating from University of Florida, she worked at Coopers & Lybrand in Miami for a year before moving to New York City, where she worked for years in the financial consulting industry. Melissa participated in the performing arts from the age of four. She performed in competitions and shows in New York City and was an active member of SAG-AFTRA.

She is survived by her parents, George and Sharon Jackson of Melbourne, FL, brother Todd Jackson (Krissy and Easton) of Stuart, FL, and sister Melanie Reddick (Chad) of Satellite Beach, FL, and two loving aunts, Debbie Reed of Oklahoma and Sondra Lewis of New York.

A private service for Melissa will be held Monday, December 6, 2021 at Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 S US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL 32955.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Driven by Heart organization for the breast cancer community in Melbourne, FL or Suntree United Methodist Church - Suntree, FL 32940.

“I am just finding out about Melissa's passing and am utterly shocked and saddened.. I met Melissa while taking dance classes at Dance Times Square in New York in 2011 and was mesmerized and envious of her talent and beauty and told her often. We danced in the same show and she was amazing. Unfortunately, I only knew Melissa for a short time and had so wanted to know her better. She was kind, beautiful, young, talented and I cannot believe she is no longer with us. RIP sweet Melissa.”
