He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Earl and Martha Long Rivers; his daughter Alicia Rivers Riggs; and his brothers, Bill, Joe and George.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Ledford Rivers; his son Paul Rivers; his grandchildren, Joshua, Jonathon (Zeena), Stephen, Alex, Jackson, Anna, Robert, Amelia and Willow; his great grandchild Jeremiah; and his siblings, Elizabeth Zettler, Charlie and Claude (Thelma). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
