He is survived by: his siblings, Barbara and Jack; his sons, Mark Karl (Ellen), Kurt Hans (Holly) and Erik Paul (Cynthia); his stepson Robert Bruce Mercer; his grandsons, Joseph H (Kurt), Brian M, Troy A (Mark), Michael Carpenter (Erik) and James A Petrill; his great grandchildren, Joseph, Hunter L, Landon J, Aubrey Rose and Wilhelm; and his former wife Nancy.
