With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dorothy Ellen Hutchens (Rockledge, Florida), who passed away on December 5, 2023 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Uriah Vinson Foster and Mayme Ellen Wilson Foster; her husband Douglas Hutchens; her daughter Kimberly Hutchens; and her brothers, Tommy Foster and Wayne Foster.

She is survived by: her children, Adelia Ellen Hutchens Wardle (Tom) and Richard Lamar Hutchens (Susan). She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family requests a contribution to the Special Gathering ministry.

“Dee and Tom: So saddened to hear of Dorothy's passing. As a musician who performs regularly at Alura Senior Living, I saw her frequently and she became one of my favorite residents because of her engaging personality and knowledge of big band era music. Her favorite tunes were Moonlight Serenade and Stars Fell on Alabama, and I often played one of those when she was in the audience. I will miss her. May she rest in peace, and may God bless your family at this difficult time.”
