He was predeceased by: his parents, Allie Whorley Pate and Grover Franklin Pate; his brothers, Grover "Junior" and Richard; and his stepson Roger.

He is survived by: his wife Judy; his stepchildren, Mark Beckner, Brian Brocksmith (Mirisa Guerra), Andrea Marcellus (Bill) and Kimberly Traynham (Robert); his grandchildren, Ashley, Brooke, Savannah, Nicholas, Kendall, Julia, Kinslee and Zachary; his brothers, Thomas Pate (Gina) and Cecil Pate; his sister-in-law Mary-Ann; his niece Wanda; and his nephew Jeffrey. He is also survived by cousins, and many friends.

A celebration of life was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 at 6:00 PM at the Serenity Meadows Funeral Home (6919 Providence Rd, Riverview, FL 33578). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Funeral Serenity Meadows Funeral Home (6919 Providence Rd, Riverview, FL 33578).
