It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laverne D. Griffin in Reddick, Florida, who passed away on June 29, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester Brown, Sr. and Hester Davis; her husband John Griffin; her brother Chester Brown, Jr.; and her nephew Kelvin Buie.
She is survived by: her son Michael Dozier (Rosemary) of Groveland, Florida; her stepchildren, Joseph Griffin of Tallahassee, Florida, Joannie Griffin of Orlando and Tamu Griffin of Tallahassee, Florida; her siblings, Shirley Howard (Roger) of Reddick, Irene Morgan (Willie) of Syracuse, Rogers Brown (Ola) of Reddick and Annie Jean Richardson of Reddick, Florida; her granddaughter Michaela Rose; her great grandchild Zion King Dozier; and her nieces and nephews, Chris, Calvin, Diamond, Miranda, Michelle and Bart. She is also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
