With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Shirley Sue Whitis (Punta Gorda, Florida), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 25, 2024 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Shirley Sue may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Shirley Sue touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Merritt and Helen Merritt; and her brother Lawrence Merritt. She is survived by: her husband William Whitis; her sisters, Patricia Hunt (Robert), Thomas Merritt (Jo) and Eldonna Merritt; her daughters, Beth Arnold (Randy), Brenda Jarvis (Ronald) and Beverly Hertenberger (Rick); and her stepson Russell Whitis (Suzi). She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
