He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Burns and Velda Burns (Pickerill); his sister Soleta Darrow; and his nieces and nephews, Megan Burns, Steven Moss, Barton Burns and Deborah Gudgeon.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Huggans; his children, Cheryl of Cedar Rapids and Charles R (Leah) of Marion; his grandchildren, Casey of Marion and Chelsea of Arizona; his great grandchildren, Rylon of Arizona and Jairus of Arizona; and his siblings, Wanda Moss of McHenry, IL, LaVern Burns of Cedar Rapids, Lexy Lou Hultman of Watkins, Janel Kramer of Marion and Roland Burns of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
