It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Bette-Jean Locke of Punta Gorda, Florida, who passed away at the age of 78, on January 22, 2025. As Bette-Jean departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Bette-Jean. Though Bette-Jean may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her husband Peter F. Locke Jr. Born; her mother Audrey Smith (Anderson); and her brother Benjamin Smith. She is survived by: her father Warren E. Smith of Southington; her sisters, Candace Jankiewicz (Robert) of Old Saybrook, CT and Cindy Colella of Southington, CT; her stepsons, Peter F. Locke III (Marcia) of Sandwich, MA and John N. Locke (Andrea) of Stafford Springs, CT; and her close friend Dona Ward. She is also survived by five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren as well as many extended family members including aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home (211 N Main St, Southington, CT 06489). A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 14th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
