Theodore Shigeru Kanamine Obituary
We are sad to announce that on March 2, 2023, at the age of 93, Theodore Shigeru Kanamine of Port Saint Lucie, Florida passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Thomas and Lucille; his sister Joyce; his wife Mary Stuben; his children, Ted (Sara), Mike, David, Laura (Howard Rutizer) and Linda; his nephew Gregg Tamai (Susie); and his niece Katie Takahama. He was also cherished by 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Following the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941 and Executive Order 9066 in early 1942, they scrambled to sell their belongings, including his father's store, in preparation for internment.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the American Red Cross or Boys Town USA.
