He was predeceased by: his daughter Christina Leigh Carney; his parents, Bernard Curtis Carney and Annette Carney (Mullally); and his brothers, Richard and Joseph Carney.

He is survived by: his wife Karla Jean Carney (Gardner); his son Charles Victor Carney; and his siblings, Roger Carney, Maureen Italiano, Mary Moncalieri, Vincent Carney, Janet Meeuwissen and Bernadette Carney.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be directed to Treasure Coast Hospice at treasurehealth.org and childrens.dartmouth-health.org.
