He is survived by: his wife Sue; his children, Philip G. Knudsen of New Jersey and Kelsey Knudsen of New Jersey; his sister Laura Brown (Knudsen) of Florida; his siblings-in-law, Michael Brown of Florida and Lisa Deming of Florida; his daughter-in-law Alice Knudsen (Grogan) of New Jersey; and his grandson Myles Knudsen.

In lieu of flowers, Phil wished for donations to be made in his name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
