He was predeceased by: his mother Maria Ramirez; his stepparents, Julio Alfonso Penaranda (Bertha) of Lima, Peru and Maria Genoveva Solari (Humberto) of Lima; and his grandson Christopher Penaranda. He is survived by: his wife Malinda Penaranda; his children, Danny Penaranda (Cindy), Chris Penaranda, Bobby Penaranda and Maria Faulkner (Jeff); his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Raborg (Ryan), Ansley Circo (Ray), Brett Burnett (Julliette) and Eric Burnett (Tiffany); his brothers, Romulo Jorge Penaranda (Judy) of Lima and Cesar Alberto Penaranda (Carmen) of Lima; and his father-in-law Bill Lanier (Iris). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and many other friends.
