He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Wayne and Frances Chaplin Heimer; his stepmother Betty Heimer; and his brothers, Darrell, David, Jerry, James and Timothy Heimer.

He is survived by: his wife Mariko "Mika" Heimer; his children, Larry Heimer (Wendy), James "Jim" Heimer (Ellen), Maria Heimer and Monica Cook (Daniel); and his brothers, Michael and Jeffrey Heimer. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers, please make donations to The American Legion Post 318. 1000 Savanna Club Blvd., Port St. Lucie, FL 34952.
