She was predeceased by: her parents, Manuel Velez and Rosa Velez (Pinargote); and her siblings, Belgica, Isauro, Clovi and Victor.
She is survived by: her husband Frederick Deer; her children, Oscar Tapia (Jacinta), Jonny Tapia (Bitta), Jimmy Tapia (Adriana), Carlos Tapia (Silvia) and Alejandra Tapia-Jimenez (Donato); her grandchildren, Pilar, Oscar Jr., Jennifer, Stephanie, Michael, Marcelino, Amy, Fiorella, Jonathan, Jeremy, Jessarie, Delilah, Leilani, Angel, Matthew, Ashley, Katie, Giada and Lexi; and her siblings, Vidal, Laura, Ramon, Vilma, Mercy, Manuel and Miller. She is also survived by 24 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home (419 White Plains Rd, Trumbull, CT 06611). A Mass was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Margaret Shrine (2539 Park Ave, Bridgeport, CT 06604).
