He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Sr. Whalen and Lillian Whalen; his wife Dorothy Whalen; his siblings, Edith Shute (Bob) and John Whalen; his stepdaughter Suzanne Royer; and his daughter-in-law Lisa Whalen (Scott).
He is survived by: his children, Bruce Whalen (Joanna), Barbara McCall (Kevin), Patricia Nicolaysen (Paul), Lorraine Zufall (Artie) and Scott Whalen; his cousins, Joan Wesley and Pamela Knox; and his stepchildren, Robert Alpi (Andrea), Patricia Poland (Dwayne), Edward Alpi (Deena), Joanne Graef (Robert), John Alpi, William Alpi (Linda) and Kathleen Gannon (Thomas). He is also survived by his 22 grandchildren and step grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
