The memory of Denzil Ray Smith of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, born in Depauw, Indiana, who passed away on October 11, 2024 at the age of 86, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Cort Smith and Elsie Smith; his siblings, Ruth Wright, Lewis Smith and Lonnie Smith; and his son Stephen Smith.
He is survived by: his spouse Gerry Smith; his children, Stephanie Reed (James) and Shannon Smith (Kathryn); his grandchildren, Aaron Smith (Tony), Abigail Smith, Anna Williams (Andrew), Ashley Thomas (Andrew), Katie Smith, Kourtney Park (Isaac), Alaina Lang (Jacob), Emily Love (Nathan), Caleb Reed (Ariana), Joshua Reed (Julie), Nicholas Smith (Caitlyn) and Victoria Dixon (Joshua); his stepgranddaughter Margarita España; and his sisters, Wanda Weaver (Jerry) and Kelta Sherman (Brian). He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, October 16th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (8515 SE Church St, Hobe Sound, FL 33455). Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 16th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Fellowship Hall. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at 10:30 AM at the New Life Community Church (3837 US-29, Blairs, VA 24540).
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Pastor Denzil R. Smith Memorial Garden Fund.
