He was predeceased by: his parents, Hank and Florence; and his brother John. He is survived by: his wife Anita (Lewis); his son Paul; his daughter-in-law Sharon (Fixler); and his grandchildren, Mia, Evan and Luke.

“Roy and I were cousins. His grandmother, Amelia, was my great grandmother. We both went to Miami Edison Sr High School. He was 7 years older than me, so we weren't in school at the same time. His younger brother, John, graduated with my sister, Laramie, in 1957. I would always hear stories about both Roy and John as related by my sister. I kept up with information about him as an adult and had not seen him since we were children. My sincere condolences to his family. Rest in Peace Roy.”
