He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Marvin Long and Mavis Long of Bloomfield, IN; his wife Deborah Long; his daughters, Jessica Long and Amanda Parker; his son-in-law William Parker; his grandson Caleb Parker of Ponte Vedra, FL.; his brother Ron Long; his sister-in-law Vickie Long; his sister Rita Holtsclaw; and his brother-in-law Harold Holtsclaw of Bloomfield. He was also cherished by several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Heart Association.
