He was predeceased by: his parents, Sidney Monroe and Irene Monroe (Hanson); and his sister Sarah Monroe. He is survived by: his wife Susan Holloway; his sister Mary Hopping (Wade); his daughters, Dawn Monroe and Eden Sheffield (Matt); his grandchildren, Adam, Allie and Benjamin; his cousin Earle Whitehurst; and his stepsons, Sean (Rachel), Aaron (Edvina) and Paul.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Hospice and Palliative Services or Davis Phinney Parkinson's Foundation.
