He is survived by: his wife Judy; his sister Ann Walther of St. Louis, Missouri; his children, Andrew Diffenderffer (Erin) of Marietta, Georgia and Cathryn Hauptman of Sylvania, Ohio; and his grandchildren, James, Molly Diffenderffer, Jackson, Anna and Luke Hauptman.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to K9's for Warriors or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
