She was loved and cherished by many people including: her father John Keefe; her husband James Paul Coovert; her son J. P. Coovert (Jacie) of Cincinnati, Ohio; her mother Elaine Monack Keefe of Hendersonville, NC; and her brothers, Scott Keefe (Maria) of Jacksonville, FL, Kevin Keefe (Mary Jane) of Hendersonville, NC and Mark Keefe of Atlanta. She was also cherished by seven nieces and nephews.

“Janis and I were in Gainesville High School classes together. We cheered each other on, & laughed through some of the more interesting teachers. I think she was the oldest; she always shared her stories of her brothers & love for her family. Her smile was infectious. Her freckles, beautiful black hair and bright eyes. A friend of the high school time that i remember so well. I miss that I did not speak to her recently, but send you all a big smile, just like hers. She is surely watching over us.”
