He is survived by: his wife Elinor Jane Hall; his son Gerald; his sister Ruby Ryals of Troy, Alabama; his grandchildren, Cyndee Hinson, Caysee Commander, Gerald Lee Commander, III, Jarod Cox, Danielle Downing and Andrew Downing; and his great grandchildren, Brianna Bossert, Katee Brown, Emma Claire Hinson, Lendyn Commander, Bradley Cox and Tyler Cox.
