He was predeceased by: his siblings, Freddie Demps, Johnnie B. Demps and Bryant Demps (Junior). He is survived by: his wife Betty; his children, Ara, Mike, Monica and Laiyah Morgan Smith; his siblings, Hazel Demps, Annie Wiggins, Catherine Taylor, Peter Demps (Evelenia), Oscar Demps (Lorene), Bradley Demps (Ann) and Rosa Demps; his aunts, Annie Mae Johnson and Sally Chiares; his siblings-in-law, Mamie Allen, Bertha Stevens, Flora Yates, Andrew Payne, Richard Payne, James Payne and David Payne; and his cousin Ozzie Williams (Weather). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
