He is survived by: his daughter Alyssa Rush; his wife Lillian Beanland-Rush; his daughter Shelby; his sister Brenda Lee; his brother-in-law Joe Lee; his nephew Jay Lee; his niece Muffet Lee; his son-in-law Gian Carlos Hurtado; and his grandchildren, Alonso Hurtado and Mila Hurtado.
A memorial service will be held in his honor, and the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Campaign For Ole Miss: Journalism and New Media in Rex's memory.
