He is survived by: his wife Catherine Varnes of Pomona Park; his children, David Michael "Mike" Varnes of Florahome and Julie Elizabeth Crosby (Scott) of Gainesville; his siblings, James L. Varnes (Josette) of Grandin, Gary Mitchell Varnes (Eva) of Melbourne and Marilyn Varnes Greene of Jacksonville; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Carnes Taft (Mitchell), Chelsea Erin Carnes, Samantha Faith Crosby, Merriam Grace Sprouse (Robie) and Kirstie Lynn Varnes; and his great grandchildren, Steven, Joanna, Alan Taft, Amya, Luna Sprouse, Lewcas Poe, Shadyn Greene, Amayla, Ariel Pennington, Emma and Kaydence Varnes.
