He was predeceased by: his brother Robert; his brother-in-law Roy Weissel; his stepdaughter Susan Winter; and his wife Sara Lee. He is survived by: his former wife Suzanne Sobel; his sister Judy Weissel; his sister-in-law Nancy Sterling; his children, Jeffrey Sterling (Ann Marie), Kerry Alers (Jorge) and Dr. Richard Sterling (Ann); his stepdaughter Ann Vandermeer (Jeff); and his friend Tamara Axelman. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and his loving companion.
