He is survived by: his wife Teresa Southerland; his children, R. J. Southerland (Cheryl) and Lisa Southerland Shirah; his siblings, Sue, Delane Southerland (Barbara) and Mary Ann Stalvey; and his grandchildren, Shelby Southerland, Madalynn Shirah and Grace Shirah.
