He was predeceased by: his parents, Dobbie Lee Weldon and Myrtis Jewel Trowell; his close friend Grady Lariscy; and his grandparents, Jessie Asmon Weldon, Maggie Mae Ranew, Walter Trowell and Lizzie Rucker.

He is survived by: his wife Sharon Weldon; his daughters, Lauren Burkott (Scott) and Lindsey Crenshaw (Timothy); his grandchildren, Leilani Noel Burkott, Layla Monroe Crenshaw, Alexander Scott Burkott and Harrison Wade Crenshaw; and his siblings, Leon Weldon (Linda), Russell Weldon and Daphne Weldon.
