He was predeceased by: his parents, Samp May and Vela May; and his sister Sandra Barco. He is survived by: his wife Betty Pugliese Highsmith; his stepchildren, Tammy Pugliese, Carmen Beardsley (David) and Joseph Pugliese Jr.; his grandchildren, Kristen Rodriguez Ashley Hardt (Alex), Joshua Talmadge (Logan) and Betty Amanda Beardsley (Tony); his daughter Lisa Willis Corey Wayne (Clay); and his siblings, Loretta Grace and Ronald Highsmith. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
