He was predeceased by: his mother Rosamary Bailey Gardner. He is survived by: his wife Vonda Dees Gardner of Lake Wales; his brother Gordon Gardner (Theresa) of Traskwood; his nieces, Deborah Gardner Howell (Jim) of Alexander and Katherine Gardner Little of Traskwood; and his brother-in-law William Dees (Brenda) of Blairsville. He is also survived by 11 great nieces and nephews, and many family friends.
